I am a final-year PhD candidate in the Computer Science department at Columbia University in New York, USA. I work in the (vast) field of computer networking, with a focus on the areas of wireless and cellular networks, next-generation networks and multimedia and content issues.     I am currently 17 and I have wanted to learn how to program for some time. I have learned the basics of perl, php, and vb. I was wondering if you knew of any mentoring programs, I hope you can point me in the right way.
